Melissa Prophet, a talented actress, is perhaps best known for her roles in the iconic films Goodfellas and Casino. Born into the music business, Prophet grew up surrounded by the industry, thanks to her father, the singer Johnny Prophet. She began her career in show business by working alongside Telly Savalas on the popular TV series Kojak for three years.
Before transitioning to the other side of the camera, Prophet had a successful stint as a beauty pageant contestant, having been crowned Miss Hollywood, Miss California, and a runner-up in both the Miss USA and Miss World pageants.
In 1987, Prophet made the move into film and television management, joining Ashser/Krost Management. She later joined Guber/Peters with Jeff Wald Entertainment, before co-founding Baumgarten/Prophet Entertainment with Craig Baumgarten in 1990.
As a manager, Prophet has represented a diverse range of highly acclaimed actors, including Academy Award winner Joe Pesci, Emmy award winner Kim Delaney, Frank Vincent, Lynda Carter, Golden Globe winner Barry Bostwick, Colleen Camp, Peter Greene, Peter Dobson, Emmy winner Marlo Thomas, Emmy nominee Cynthia Geary, Brian Whimmer, Erika Eleniak, and many more.
In addition to her management work, Prophet has also produced several film and television projects with Baumgarten, and served as an Associate Producer on the critically acclaimed film Cotton Club, alongside Robert Evans and Francis Ford Coppola.
Today, Prophet continues to work with select clients as the owner of Melissa Prophet Management, while also serving as the Executive Director of Development for The Robert Evans Company at Paramount Pictures.
