Michael's television career began as a producer on the long-running "Love Connection," a show that would lay the groundwork for his future success in the industry. From there, he went on to write, produce, and direct a wide range of unscripted television programs, including documentaries, talk shows, biographies, and travel shows.
As his experience and expertise grew, Michael took on the role of showrunner, overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. This demanding task would ultimately prepare him for his next move: joining the team at Authentic Entertainment, where he would work his way up from line producer to executive in charge to chief operating officer.
Before entering the world of television, Michael spent nine years working on Broadway as the chief operating officer for Sweet Concessions, Inc., a concessionaire, caterer, and provider of VIP hospitality services. It was during this time that he pioneered the concept of pre-ordering drinks for intermission, a practice that would become a staple in the US.
Currently, Michael works as a freelance television writer, director, and producer, as well as a theatre writer, actor, and director. His most recent project, "Welcome Home," can be seen on The CW Network, where he has produced and directed 11 episodes.
Throughout his career, Michael has also made a name for himself as a professional actor, singer, director, and playwright. He founded and served as artistic director for the award-winning Avante Garage Comedy Repertory Theatre Company, which he operated at various venues in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1992, Michael opened The Avante Garage Dinner Theatre, which he owned with partners Joe Correll, Jamey Green, and Kathy Shepard.
When he's not working, Michael enjoys rehabbing vintage properties, gourmet cooking, international adventure travel, women's roller derby, and pitbulls.
