Michael Anderson was born in Denver, Colorado, on a spooky Halloween night at precisely 10:30 P.M. due to a peculiar genetic anomaly known as Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which rendered him wheelchair-bound from a young age.
Despite his physical limitations, Anderson's adventurous spirit led him to embark on a journey across America, singing for tips and living out of his car for six years. This unconventional lifestyle allowed him to develop a unique perspective on life, which would later influence his creative pursuits.
Anderson's thirst for knowledge led him to enroll at the University of Colorado, where he majored in a diverse range of subjects, including philosophy, microbiology, and numerous other disciplines. His academic endeavors spanned six years, during which time he honed his critical thinking skills and developed a broad-based understanding of the world.
After completing his studies, Anderson landed a job at Martin Marietta, where he utilized his technical expertise to troubleshoot the N.A.S.A. computers in the ground-support system of the space shuttle. This experience not only refined his problem-solving skills but also provided him with a unique understanding of the complexities involved in space exploration.
During his time at Martin Marietta, Anderson also found the opportunity to pursue his passion for filmmaking, creating the documentary "Little Mike," which went on to win a prestigious silver medal in the International Film and Television Awards. This early success served as a catalyst for his subsequent career in the film and television industry.

His work on the cult favorite T.V. series Twin Peaks (1990) earned him a loyal following among fans of the show, and his appearances in Lynch's experimental performance piece Industrial Symphony No. 1: The Dream of the Brokenhearted (1990) and the T.V.-pilot-turned-feature film Mulholland Drive (2001) solidified his status as a versatile and accomplished performer.
