Michael John Treanor was born on July 13th, 1983, at Fazakerley Hospital in Liverpool, England, where his mother, a medical nurse and midwife, and his father, a secondary school teacher, welcomed him into the world. With Irish and English ancestry, Michael's early years were marked by a rich cultural heritage.
Michael spent his formative years in Spain, where he developed a proficiency in the Spanish language, which would later prove to be a valuable asset in his acting career. He was successfully cast in roles in Spain and Europe, demonstrating the importance of his linguistic skills.
In 2010, Michael returned to the UK and enrolled in acting classes at the Merseyside Academy of Drama (MAD). It was during this time that he discovered his passion for acting and began to hone his craft under the guidance of his mentor, David Johnson, in Manchester. David Johnson has been recognized for his dedication to the field, having been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for his lifetime commitment to drama.
Michael also trained in the "Meisner Technique" under the tutelage of his American drama teacher and friend, Anthony Montes, who was a student of the renowned Sanford Meisner. This training has greatly influenced Michael's acting style and approach to his craft.
Michael's acting career gained momentum in 2018 with his breakout role as Glasgow Ranger in The World Is Yours, directed by Romain Gavras, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Since then, he has appeared in a variety of films and television shows, including Intergalactic (2021),Tin Star (2017),White Lines (2020),García! (2022),In from the Cold (2022),and Villain (2020).
However, it was his roles in Spain that truly propelled his career to new heights. He is widely recognized for his portrayal of Sergei, a ruthless but lovable member of the Russian mafia Tambov Gang, in the Movistar Plus hit series Nasdrovia (2020). Additionally, his performance as Andrei, a faithful Ukrainian bodyguard, in Deudas (2021) for Atresplayer and Antena 3 earned him critical acclaim.
Throughout his journey, Michael has demonstrated his versatility as an actor, taking on a wide range of roles and showcasing his impressive range.
