Michael McKiddy's journey in the entertainment industry began at the tender age of 5 when he appeared on "The Uncle Al TV Show" in Cincinnati, Ohio. This early exposure sparked a lifelong passion for acting, which was further fueled by his parents taking him to see "Back to the Future" when he was just a child.
Growing up in Springboro, Ohio, Michael spent his teenage years writing and filming movies and skits with his childhood friends, describing this experience as an "incredible acting/filmmaking class" that laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
After relocating to Sterling Heights, Michigan, during his senior year at Utica High School, Michael gathered the courage to audition for the school's Fall musical "Oklahoma!" He landed a role and was overwhelmed by the camaraderie involved in putting on a show.
Michael's passion for acting led him to study the craft for the next eight years, performing in over 40 plays and musicals throughout Southeastern Michigan. He won numerous awards, including the Gypsy Robe for his portrayal of Ellard Simms in Larry Shue's "The Foreigner."
In addition to his stage work, Michael also appeared in various local films in the Detroit area, taking on roles that allowed him to learn all aspects of filmmaking. At the age of 19, he landed the lead role of Patrick Hill in the feature film "After April."
Michael's subsequent roles included appearances in "Silent Scream" and "Deadheads," which premiered at numerous film festivals and received critical acclaim. He also starred in a short film called "Suck" and played the lead role in the web series "Paranormal, Burbank."
As a writer, Michael has penned several screenplays, including "Reenactment," "Mulher," "In Between Fading," and "Aurora," as well as stage plays like "Love(HATE)," "Fake," and "Hilarity Ensues." His screenplay "Maybe Someday" was produced by Cynthia J. Popp and Christy Dooley and is now available on Amazon and iTunes.
Michael was a company member with the prestigious Road Theatre Company in North Hollywood, CA for over five years, where he produced the critically acclaimed World Premiere of Keith Huff's "Pursued By Happiness."
Outside of the film industry, Michael is a singer/songwriter and has recorded music with his band Right on Wagner. ROW's music can be found on iTunes.
Michael is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild-AFTRA, Actor's Equity Association, and has continued to work tirelessly in the entertainment industry, showcasing his talents as an actor, writer, and musician.
