Michael Moritzen, a talented individual with a rich family background, is the son of actor Henning Moritzen and his wife, Betty Moritzen, née Krohn, who worked as a cashier. Born into an artistic family, Moritzen pursued his passion for the performing arts, studying direction at the prestigious National Theatre School in 1978.
Following his direction studies, Moritzen further honed his craft by attending the Acting School at Århus Theatre in 1981. During his time at Århus Theatre, he was affiliated with the institution from 1981 to 1982, before deciding to forge his own path as a freelance artist.
Throughout his illustrious career, Moritzen has taken on a wide range of notable roles. He has played the memorable character of Børge in the film "Dansen med Regitze" and portrayed a significant role as the leader of a resistance group in the production "De nøgne træer".
On stage, Moritzen has had the opportunity to play title roles in several productions. In 1989, he took on the role of Don Ranudo at Grønnegårds Teatret. Additionally, he has played the title role in "Erasmus Montanus" and, in 1998, he portrayed an admiral in the production "Pinafore" at the Danish Theatre.
