Michael Sergio is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. As a director, writer, and producer, he has worked with a diverse range of clients, including Continental Airlines, AT&T, Disney, Alitalia, ESPN, Broadway Theatre Institute, ABC Sports, and American Express.
Sergio has also directed numerous films and television specials, earning him a Daytime Emmy nomination for "Creating the Wizard of Oz on Ice" and winning an Emmy for "Ringling Bros. 1996 TV Circus Special". His feature film debut, "Under Hellgate Bridge", was a highly controversial and critically acclaimed film that earned him the "Best Director" and "Best Film" awards at the Narrowsburg Independent Film Festival in New York.
The film also won several other awards, including the "Regal Cinemas Dreammaker Award", "Best Film" at the Nashville Independent Film Festival, and the "People's Choice Award" at the Atlantic City Film Festival. "Under Hellgate Bridge" was released theatrically in May 2001 by CAVU Pictures and was acquired by Lions Gate Entertainment for domestic home video rights.
In addition to his work behind the camera, Sergio has also had a successful acting career, appearing on Broadway in "I Love My Wife" and numerous films and television programs, including Kojak, Law and Order, Loving, The Equalizer, and over 50 national TV commercials.
As a singer and musician, Sergio has performed at many of New York City's finest clubs, including "Catch a Rising Star", Greenstreets", "The Bitter End", "The Comic Strip", and "The Original Improvisation", where he performed for almost 17 years. He has also completed five screenplays as a writer.
