Michael, born and raised in San Mateo, California, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts from Santa Clara University, and promptly set his sights on Los Angeles to pursue a career in Film and Television. His determination paid off, as he landed a recurring role on the popular series Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1990, garnering the recognition he sought.
This success was swiftly followed by a starring role on the CBS series Pensacola: Wings of Gold, opposite James Brolin, for two seasons. He then secured notable recurring roles on various shows, including Arli$$, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, One Tree Hill, Castle, How I Met Your Mother, Revenge, and the animated series Young Justice, where he voiced the character Adam Strange.
Some of his most memorable guest appearances include The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis, Smut, Angels, John May, Dead Man's Curveball, and Baby Made a Mess. He can also be seen recurring on Grandfathered, a series that airs on the FOX network.
Michael is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Samuel T. Anders on the critically acclaimed Sci-Fi series Battlestar Galactica and for his role as Justin Patrick on the USA Network series Fairly Legal. He has also appeared in several films, including the thriller/horror movies Hush, The Bye Bye Man, and Hunter Killer.
Currently, he is starring in the series Rutherford B. Haze as Tae Kwon Doug. When not working, Michael resides in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Sandra Hess, and their two dogs and two cats.
