Michael "The Miz" Mizanin was born on October 8th, 1980, in the vibrant city of Cleveland, Ohio, to loving parents Barbara and George Mizanin. He graduated with honors from Normandy High School, showcasing his academic prowess, before attending Miami University of Ohio, where he was an esteemed member of the Theta Chi Fraternity.
During his college years, Michael auditioned for The Real World, a reality television show, after noticing a casting call on MTV. Initially, he harbored doubts about his ability to succeed on a reality show, but he went on to become one of the most popular cast members of the show's 10th season, subtitled "Back to New York." It was on this show that he debuted his wrestling alter ego, "The Miz."
Following his stint on The Real World, Michael "The Miz" became a household name on MTV, hosting various popular shows on the network and competing on The Real World's sister show, "Real World/Road Rules." His charismatic personality and wrestling skills made him a fan favorite.
"The Miz" transitioned from reality television to professional wrestling after moving to Los Angeles, where he auditioned for the WWE's "Tough Enough." Although he finished in second place, his impressive performance caught the attention of WWE executives, who offered him a developmental contract.
