Biography

Moana Pozzi, a renowned Italian adult-film star, was born on April 27, 1961, in Genova, Italy. She began her film career in 1981, initially appearing in small, uncredited roles in films and television. Five years later, she landed a part in the critically acclaimed Federico Fellini film Ginger & Fred (1986),where she met Ilona Staller, also known as "Cicciolina".

It was on the set of Ginger & Fred that Pozzi started her transition into hardcore sex films, using her real name. Her popularity in Italy soon soared, surpassing even Cicciolina's. In 1991, she published her autobiography, "La Filosofia di Moana", which hinted at her romantic and sexual escapades with prominent Italian figures, including former Prime Minister Bettino Craxi.

That same year, Pozzi and Staller co-founded the Partito dell'Amore (Party of Love),a political organization advocating for the legalization of brothels, improved sexual health, and "love parks". Although the party performed poorly in the 1992 and 1993 elections, Pozzi's celebrity status continued to grow.

Tragically, Pozzi's life was cut short when she contracted liver cancer. She passed away in Lyon, France, in 1994, at the age of 33. The circumstances surrounding her death sparked intense speculation, with rumors circulating about AIDS, faked death, and even government involvement.

In 1999, the film Guardami was released, which explored Pozzi's life and career. In 2005, Italian federal prosecutors reopened the investigation into her death, citing numerous errors and inconsistencies in the original report. A subsequent television report revealed that Pozzi indeed died of liver cancer and was cremated, putting an end to the speculation surrounding her passing.
