Nancy Pop is a multifaceted Romanian actress, model, and film director who has made New York City her home.
Born in the picturesque region of Transylvania, Pop spent her formative years oscillating between Pennsylvania and Arkansas before ultimately settling in the city that never sleeps to pursue her passion for the performing arts.
During her childhood, Pop was a well-rounded individual who excelled in various pursuits. She honed her musical skills by studying the piano, violin, and viola, while also competing on her high school's forensics team, where she garnered numerous awards in duet improvisation, poetry, prose, character monologues, and other categories.
Her impressive credentials in the pageant world include being a semi-finalist in the Miss New York USA competition, where she placed top 21 out of over 150 contestants. Moreover, she has been featured in both digital and print work, most recently for Amika's global "Bust Your Brass" Sephora campaign.
In 2018, Pop made her directorial debut with the award-winning feature film "Poets Are The Destroyers," starring Synead and now streaming on RevryTV. In 2021, she embarked on the ambitious "1221 Film Challenge," where she aimed to complete one short film every month that year. By the end of 2021, she had successfully completed principal photography on 18 shorts and one feature film, with several of these films screening at esteemed festivals such as Dances With Films, Chelsea Film Festival, Soho International Film Festival, Lighthouse Film Festival, and more.
Notable voiceover credits include the 2022 Tribeca Audio Selection "Burning Gotham," where she lends her voice to the feisty Russian assassin Sarina Zubrov, as well as "And Then I Sing," a dramatized retelling of Frank Sinatra's life, where she voices Nancy Sinatra Sr., both radio dramas directed by longtime collaborator James Scully.
