His debut novel, Mary, has been particularly notable, earning a spot as one of the "Top 100 Horror Books of All Time" by Audible, and cementing his status as a prominent figure in the horror genre. Moreover, Nat was hailed as one of the "writers shaping horror's next golden age" by Esquire.
As a playwright, Nat has enjoyed great success, with his award-winning horror plays being produced throughout New York City and across the United States. His one-man show about H.P. Lovecraft earned him the NY Innovative Theatre Award, while his play about Caligula secured him another award. Notably, Nat was commissioned by the Kennedy Center to write the libretto for a short opera about the end of the world.
