Biography

Natasha Bassett was born in Sydney, New South Wales, and began her acting journey at the tender age of 14, landing the lead role in the Australian Theatre for Young People's production of "Romeo and Juliet". This early success led her to study, write, and perform at the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art, where she honed her craft under the guidance of renowned artistic director Cate Blanchett.

As a teenager, Natasha landed the lead in the MTV film "Dungoona" in 2009, and went on to appear in several Australian television series, including "Rake", "Wild Boys", and "Cops LAC". She simultaneously attended classes and graduated high school, before making her feature film debut in P.J. Hogan's "Mental" alongside Toni Collette and Liev Schreiber.

In 2013, Natasha was awarded a screenwriting scholarship from the ArtStart Screenwriters Program, which allowed her to write and direct her short film "Kite". The critically acclaimed short was featured in several international film festivals, including the Rhode Island International Film Festival, Balinale International Film Festival, and the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival.

At the age of 19, Natasha relocated to New York City to study at the Atlantic Acting School, and later moved to Los Angeles to land a role in the NBC series "Camp". She quickly booked a spot in the WBTV sitcom "No Place Like Home" and made her scene-stealing debut as 50s era starlet Gloria DeLamour in The Coen Bros' "Hail, Caesar!" alongside George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, and Channing Tatum.

Natasha's film career continued to flourish in the United States, with roles in thrillers such as "House By The Lake", "The Pale Door", and "Desolate Spinning Man" opposite Guy Pearce, Pierce Brosnan, and Minnie Driver. She also starred in indie drama "Katie Says Goodbye" with Mary Steenburgen, and appeared in the comedy film "Spy Intervention".

In recent years, Natasha has continued to land prominent roles, including the ABC series "Operation Buffalo" and the upcoming film "12 Mighty Orphans" with Luke Wilson, Martin Sheen, and Robert Duvall. She also portrayed Britney Spears in the Lifetime biopic "Britney Ever After" in 2017.

In 2022, Natasha appeared in Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" as Dixie Locke, Elvis Presley's first girlfriend, alongside Austin Butler and Tom Hanks. To promote the film, Natasha walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, where the film received a 10-minute standing ovation.

Natasha is currently working towards her physics degree through Harvard's Online Program, and is fluent in French. She has also received the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award for her survival trips and community service throughout Australia.
