Nathan Bryon is a multifaceted individual who wears many hats, including that of a writer, actor, and author. He grew up in a household that prized Caribbean cuisine, often indulging in Uxbridge Road's culinary delights as his budget allowed.
Bryon's acting career has seen him take on several notable roles, including that of Jamie in the popular TV show Some Girls and Joey Ellis in the hit series Benidorm. His work in television has been marked by a string of critically acclaimed projects, including the BAFTA-winning animation Rastamouse, the BAFTA-nominated series Apple Tree House, and the BAFTA-winning show Gigglebiz.
In addition to his acting work, Bryon has also made a name for himself as a writer. His one-man show, MIXED BRAIN, premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and explores his experiences as a person of mixed heritage. His play Dexter and Winter detective Agency was published by Nick Hern Books and toured the country for six months.
Bryon's literary talents extend to children's books as well. He has secured a three-book deal with Penguin Random House and has already released two titles, Look Up! and Clean UP!, which have both received critical acclaim. Look Up! was the number one picture book from a debut author and illustrator in 2019 and won the Waterstones Children's Book Prize in 2020.
In addition to his literary pursuits, Bryon has also worked in television. He co-wrote a short film, NEW BLOOD, which starred Samson Kayo and Jane Horrocks and was nominated for a digital Broadcast award. The short was later developed into a TV series, Bloods, which premiered on Sky 1 in 2021.
Bryon is also passionate about creating work that reflects his black British experience. He has created a comedic social commentary series, REALITY, which has premiered at the BFI and has won several awards at film festivals around the world. He is currently working on the third series of the show.
In addition to his various projects, Bryon has several TV projects in development with various production companies, including Roughcut, Three Stones Media, BBC Studios, Genial Productions, and BBC Films.
