Ned Andrew Brower, a multifaceted individual, was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and spent his formative years in Seattle, Washington. His upbringing by an eye surgeon father and an artist/chef mother instilled in him a creative and diverse perspective.
Brower's early life was marked by his passion for music, as he played in various punk bands during his teenage years. This musical inclination eventually led him to attend film school and relocate to Los Angeles in the year 2000.
Upon arriving in LA, Brower pursued a career in modeling and acting, participating in numerous fashion campaigns, runway shows, national commercials, and television series. In the spring of 2000, he joined the LA rock band Rooney as their drummer and primary backing vocalist.
Rooney was subsequently signed to Interscope/Geffen Records in 2002 and released their debut album in 2003. The band went on to tour internationally, produce four studio albums, and create ten music videos before disbanding in 2013.
Seeking a change of pace, Brower made a professional pivot and became a first responder EMT with the Los Angeles County Fire department. After two years of responding to 911 calls throughout LA County, Brower returned to school, earning a master's degree in nursing from UCLA.
He went on to work at the emergency department at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) as a pediatric ER nurse. Throughout his career in emergency medicine, Brower continued to express his creativity through music, composing songs for multiple animated series and portraying the role of Mick Fleetwood in the popular Fleetwood Mac musical comedy "Don't Stop!"
Brower has also collaborated on music with renowned podcast host and stand-up comedian Marc Maron and creates electronic dance pop music under the name Bloodwerk.
In 2024, Brower's diverse career paths converged when he was cast as trauma nurse Jesse Van Horn for John Wells' upcoming HBO Max series, The Pitt, slated for release in early 2025.
