Neil Haskell was born in Clarence Center, New York, and his journey in the world of dance began at the David DeMarie Dance Studio in Clarence, New York, where he received his initial formal training. Additionally, he also honed his skills at the American Academy of Ballet in Williamsville, New York, and later underwent intensive ballet training at the Chautauqua Institution from the age of 14 to 16.
Following his high school graduation, Neil attended Point Park University, majoring in dance, for a year before pursuing his passion for dance further. His hard work and dedication paid off when he was awarded the prestigious title of "Male Dancer of the Year" at the American Dance Awards in 2005.
Neil's Broadway experience includes performances in Twyla Tharp's "The Times They Are A-Changin'" and Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera's productions of "Grease," "42nd Street," "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," and "Beauty & The Beast." In 2008, he took on the role of Luke in the off-Broadway musical "Alter Boyz."
That same year, Neil also appeared in the MTV-made-for-television musical "The American Mall." His national fame was cemented when he competed on FOX television's dance competition series "So You Think You Can Dance," ultimately finishing in third place.
