Born in Dublin, Ireland, Neill Fleming spent the initial five years of his life surrounded by his remarkable mother, grandparents, and seven aunts and uncles. This unique upbringing played a significant role in shaping his personality and laid the foundation for his future endeavors. His mother met and married a wonderful Bostonian man, and the family relocated to the United States in 1982, marking the beginning of a life filled with transatlantic travel and exposure to diverse cultures.
Neill's family moved across the Atlantic, traversing the distance between Maine and Donegal, and then back to Massachusetts, Dublin, and finally, New York City. This constant exposure to different accents and environments allowed him to develop a keen ear for accents and a remarkable ability to adapt to various characters, a skill that would later serve him well in his acting career.
Fleming's early interest in voice and acting led him to train extensively in the works of his first love, Shakespeare. He honed his skills in voice and scene work under the guidance of renowned instructors, including Darragh O'Brian of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Throughout his career, Neill has had the privilege of playing a wide range of roles, including Lord Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Old Hamlet/King Claudius in Hamlet, Orsino in Twelfth Night, and Gloucester in King Lear.
Neill has a natural affinity for Irish writers and has had the opportunity to perform in numerous productions featuring the works of Mark O'Rowe, Oscar Wilde, and Samuel Beckett. One of the highlights of his life was to play Vladimir in Waiting for Godot at the School of the Arts theatre in Singapore, a performance that took place just six months after he had overcome his struggles with addiction.
Throughout his career, Neill has worked with various theatre companies, including the Core Ensemble, which he co-founded, and Mouth on Fire, a world-renowned company. He has also had the privilege of performing in several productions, including Who by Fire, a musical featuring Leonard Cohen's music, and La Locandiera, a play by Carlo Goldoni, which toured Ireland and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
In addition to his work in theatre, Neill is a talented artist and animator, having graduated from the Ballyfermot College's animation programme in Dublin. He has worked as an artist for publishing companies in Manhattan, as an animator for Vivendi Universal Games, and as a fine artist. Neill is also a dog lover, marathoner, and yoga teacher.
Neill holds dual US and Irish citizenship and is currently based in Los Angeles.
