Nelson Shin is the visionary founder and esteemed president of Akom Production Co., Ltd., a renowned animation studio based in Seoul, South Korea. Prior to establishing his own company, Shin honed his skills as an animator at the prestigious DePatie-Freleng studio during the 1970s, where he made significant contributions to the iconic "Pink Panther" film series.
Shin's impressive portfolio also includes the groundbreaking work on the lightsaber blades in the classic sci-fi epic, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977),although he remained uncredited for his efforts. After years of experience in the industry, Shin decided to take the leap and founded Akom Production Co., Ltd. in 1985.
Since its inception, Akom has established itself as a prominent player in the animation world, producing a vast array of content for American television.
