Nick Groff was born on April 19th, 1980, in San José, California. He was raised in New England and has been fascinated with the paranormal since childhood, due to his passion for horror movies and inexplicable experiences within his home and family. His strong vivacity led him to risk his own life twice within one year, with the first and most severe experience being a near-death experience that made him more sensitive to the supernatural.
Groff's first documentary film was "Ghost Adventures", which premiered in 2007 on the SyFy channel and broke records with 1.4 million viewers on a Friday night. He co-created, co-produced, edited, cinematographed, and was an investigator on screen. He is also the co-founder of the GAC "Ghost Adventures Crew".
"Ghost Adventures" was his first paranormal TV project, which he co-created, co-hosted, and executive produced for ten seasons (2008-2014). During filming, he had many experiences, including seeing the apparition of a woman at Linda Vista Hospital in Los Angeles, which left a mark on him and definitively convinced him of the existence of the afterlife.
Groff has worked on various projects, including writing his autobiography book "Chasing Spirits: The Building of the Ghost Adventures Crew" (2012). He has also released two music albums, "The Other Side" and "Spiritual War: Good vs Evil", as well as producing independent music artists through his production company, Groff Entertainment.
In addition to his TV projects, Groff has also written and directed the film "Malevolence" (2004),and executive produced TV shows such as "Vegas Stripped" (2012) and "Ghost Stalkers" (2014).
Groff has also been dedicated to sports and wellness, opening his own gym, "Drive Health & Fitness", in Methuen, MA, which he co-owned until August 2015. He has also competed in various athletic events, including "American Ninja Warrior" and the Boston Spartan Race, and has climbed Mount Washington in NH and run the Spartan Beast in freezing rain.
In 2014, Groff announced that he would no longer be a part of the Ghost Adventures Crew and launched the Nick Groff Tour, which allows him to organize events to meet his fans and investigate with them in America's most haunted locations.
Groff's next show, "Paranormal Lockdown", premiered on March 4th, 2016, on Destination America and broke ratings records for the network. The show has been renewed for a second and third season and airs on TLC/ID Discovery/Destination America.
Groff has also worked on other shows, including "Ghosts of Shepherdstown" (2016),where he assisted the Shepherdstown, WV, police department with his expertise in the paranormal field.
Groff has two daughters, Annabelle and Chloë, and has lived in New England since 2012. In 2020, his new project "Death Walker" series was announced.
