Born in sunny Durban, South Africa and raised in New York City, Nondumiso Tembe is a multi-award-winning Actress, Singer, Songwriter, Dancer and Writer. As the proud daughter of two of Africa's most successful Opera singers and trailblazers, artistic expression is deeply embedded in her DNA.
Nondumiso is a highly educated artist, holding a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the Yale School of Drama, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre and Political Science from New York's New School University, as well as certificates in Classical Theatre from the British American Dramatic Academy at Oxford University, England and Musical Theatre from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York.
She has studied Classical Ballet for over 20 years and is also a certified Copy Editor and Proofreader.
Throughout her career, Nondumiso has had numerous notable roles, including Na'omi Ajimuda in "Six", Mavis in "True Blood", and Miss Mya in "Generations". She has also appeared in films such as "Zulu Wedding", "Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland", and "The Book of Negroes".
Nondumiso's theatre credits include performances at the McCarter Theatre at Princeton, Yale Repertory Theatre, the Miller Theatre at Columbia, the Boston Court Theatre, Walt Disney Studios, the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, and the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.
She has received numerous awards and nominations for her performances, including a Best Lead Actress in a Musical South African Magazine Theatre Award win, a Best Lead Actress in a Musical Mercury Theatre Award, and a Best Actress in a Supporting Role Naledi Theatre Award.

Nondumiso is also a writer, and her latest project, an animated, fairy tale, musical adventure feature film, won Best Feature Script at the 2023 California Women's Film Festival and was a semifinalist at the 2023 Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards.
