Norman Yeung is a multi-talented individual who works in film, television, theatre, and visual arts. As a formally trained actor, he has honed his skills both on camera and on stage, and has also developed a strong background as a playwright and screenwriter.
In the film industry, Norman has appeared in a number of notable roles, including the fourth installment in the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil: Afterlife, where he played the role of Kim Yong alongside Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Wentworth Miller, Boris Kodjoe, and Kim Coates. He has also appeared in the television series Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, where he played the role of Eddie the Metal Dude, and in various other film and television projects.
On stage, Norman has had the opportunity to showcase his talents in a number of productions, including the Canadian premiere of the Olivier Award-winning play Chimerica, where he played the roles of Young Zhang Lin and Benny, and the Canadian premiere of The Kite Runner, where he played the role of Hassan. His performances have been praised by critics, with one reviewer noting that his portrayal of Hassan was "particularly notable" and that he delivered a "powerful, quiet performance".
As a writer, Norman has had success with his play Theory, which won First Prize for the Herman Voaden National Playwriting Competition and was presented at the SummerWorks Theatre Festival in Toronto. He is currently adapting the play into a feature film. His other plays, including Pu-Erh, Deirdre Dear, and Black Blood, have also been well-received and have premiered at various festivals and theatres.
Norman has also written and directed several short films, including Anne Darling, Marnie Love, Hello Faye, and Light 01. His films have screened at international film festivals and have been broadcast on television channels.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Norman currently splits his time between Los Angeles and Toronto.
