Olgun Simsek, a renowned Turkish actor, was born in 1971 in the quaint village of Yenice, located in Büyükorhan, Bursa. His father, a dedicated primary school teacher, and his mother, a devoted housewife, instilled in him the importance of education and family values from a young age.
After completing his studies in theatre at the prestigious Istanbul University State Conservatory, Simsek embarked on a professional acting career in 1993. His early work included a stint in the play "Otogargara" alongside the talented Demet Akbag and Yilmaz Erdogan in 1995. He also appeared in minor roles in the films "Tersine Dünya" in 1993 and "Loves with Gravity" in 1995.
Simsek's breakthrough came in 1998 when he starred in the film "Karisik Pizza," for which he received the Most Promising Actor award at the Ankara Film Festival. He went on to appear in various television series, including "Sihirli Ceket" in 1996, "7 Numara" in 2000, "Besik Kertmesi" in 2002, "Eskiya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz" in 2015, and "Alacakaranlik" in 2003.
In 2004, Simsek starred in the film "Toss-Up," directed by Ugur Yücel, where he portrayed a disabled soldier. This performance earned him numerous accolades, including the Golden Orange for Best Actor, as well as Best Actor awards at the Ankara Film Festival, Istanbul Film Festival, Adana Golden Coccoon Festival, and the Siyad awards.
Simsek's impressive career has also included appearances in the Turkish comedy show "Almost Famous" in 2012. Throughout his journey, he has consistently demonstrated his versatility and range as an actor, captivating audiences with his performances.
