Oona Laurence, a talented American actress, was born on August 1, 2002, and has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. She is best recognized for originating the iconic role of Matilda Wormwood in the Broadway production of Matilda, alongside Bailey Ryon, Milly Shapiro, and Sophia Gennusa.
Laurence's journey in the entertainment industry began with appearances in regional theatre productions and minor roles in short films and television episodes. Her big break came in 2012 when she auditioned for the new musical Matilda on Broadway. She successfully landed the role of Matilda, performing in the show from March 4 to December 15, 2013.
Following her successful stint in Matilda, Laurence transitioned to film acting, appearing in a range of projects, including Tumorhead, A Little Game, The Grief of Others, I Smile Back, Damsel, Lamb, and Southpaw. She portrayed the daughter of Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams' characters in several of these films.
Laurence has also made appearances on television, including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Orange Is the New Black.
