Patrick Baladi was born to a diverse family, with an English mother and a Syrian father, who was a doctor with a remarkable connection to Colonel Gaddafi's wife. He spent his early years in Libya, where he was educated, and later attended a Jesuit boarding school in Lancashire, England.
It was during his time at the boarding school that Baladi first discovered his passion for acting, taking on the role of Nancy in a boys-only production of 'Oliver!'. After completing his education, he joined the prestigious National Theatre, where he had the opportunity to work alongside future co-star Martin Freeman, who would later join him in the hit television comedy series 'The Office'.
Baladi's success in 'The Office' led to a variety of roles in popular British dramas, including 'A Touch of Frost' and 'Midsomer Murders', in which he had a memorable scene where he was electrocuted in his car. He also appeared in more romantic roles in 'Mistresses' and 'Consuming Passions', where he was nude on screen, seduced by Olivia Colman in the shower.
In addition to his acting career, Baladi is also a member of a rock band called Grow Up, alongside actor Keith Allen. He is married to actress and dancer Gemma Walker, born in 1982, and they have a daughter together, Ava, born in March 2007. Baladi's impressive delivery skills were put to the test when Ava was born, as he assisted the midwife in the delivery, drawing on his experience of delivering a dummy baby in the drama series 'Bodies'.
