Paul Michael Ayre is a multifaceted individual, born in Maidstone, Kent, but raised in Sydney, Australia. He is a writer and actor with a plethora of credits to his name.
As a writer, Paul is perhaps best known for penning the pilot episode of Channel 10's Drunk History, which went on to become a successful series. He has also won numerous writing prizes, including over $70,000 worth of awards for his self-produced series The Justice Lease and an additional $1,000 for his work on the award-winning series The Pet Killer.
In addition to his writing credits, Paul is also a skilled actor, with extensive training at The Howard Fine School for acting in Melbourne. He has had the privilege of working with some of the industry's most renowned instructors, including Larry Moss, the late Elizabeth Kemp, Carol Rosenfeld, and Jean-Louis Rodriguez.
Paul has a strong background in stand-up comedy, having performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for five consecutive years. He has also won the NSW leg of Triple J's Raw Comedy Stand-up Competition and competed nationally alongside Hannah Gadsby and Celia Pacquola.
In addition to his stand-up work, Paul has also had a successful career in theatre, touring extensively throughout Europe and Scandinavia as part of The Umbilical Brothers' show "The Rehearsal". This show is periodically available on Netflix and Stan.
Paul's recent credits in television include appearances on Netflix's Wellmania, ABC's Barons, and Stan's Bali 2002, opposite Claudia Jessie.
