Biography

Per Theodor Haugen, a Norwegian actor of great distinction, entered this world on October 8, 1932, in the picturesque town of Kongsberg. He was the offspring of Trygve Haugen, born in the year 1897, and his wife Hjørdis Wissestad, who was born in 1904 and unfortunately passed away in the year 1960. At a remarkably young age of 16, Haugen embarked on a remarkable journey, enrolling as a student at the renowned Rogaland Theater in Stavanger, where he began to hone his craft and lay the foundation for a successful career in the world of theater.

The remarkable career of Knut Haugen began with a triumphant stage debut in 1949 at Rogaland Teater, marking the starting point of a long and illustrious journey that would take him to the pinnacle of success.

In the following decade, Haugen's talent and dedication were further showcased when he took on the lead role in the 1959 film Støv på hjernen, a performance that cemented his reputation as a masterful actor, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

Throughout his illustrious career, Haugen also demonstrated his versatility and range as a performer by taking on the role of director at Oslo Nye Teater from 1985 to 1989, a period during which he would have had the opportunity to hone his skills and develop his craft in a variety of ways, ultimately solidifying his status as a true artist.

Kim Haugen's father, Espen Haugen, led a life filled with love and family. He shared his life with the talented actress, Sissel Sellæg, born in the year 1928, until her passing in 2014. This beautiful union resulted in the birth of their son, Kim Haugen, in 1958.
