Perry Yung is an American actor and musician from Oakland, California, who made his television debut in the Cinemax series The Knick as Ping Wu, a role that marked the beginning of his extensive career in the industry.
Since his debut, Yung has appeared on numerous network shows, including Gotham, The Blacklist, Blue Bloods, Royal Pains, SVU Law and Order, The Equalizer, and more recently, he starred in Netflix's The Three-body Problem, a production written by the acclaimed Game of Thrones team, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
Yung's film work is equally impressive, with notable roles in The Harvest, John Wick: Chapter 2, Condemned, Jade Pendant, Boogie Benji the Dove, A Father's Son, and he even lent his voice to the Puppet Master in the English language release of the Chinese animated feature The Guardians Brothers.
In addition to his acting career, Yung is also a talented musician, and he is best known for his role as Father Jun in Cinemax's Warrior, a production that allowed him to combine his acting and music skills. His flute playing is featured on the soundtrack throughout all three seasons of Warrior, as well as on other film scores.
As a stage actor, Yung is a founding member of the Slant Performance Group and has been a member of La MaMa E.T.C.'s Great Jones Repertory Group since 1993. Recently, he debuted his first film, Stop Asian Hate Love One Another, which was nominated for Best Music Video at the Disorient Film Festival in Eugene, Oregon.
