Peter Gaffney, the son of computer pioneer John Gaffney and Carol Crandall Gaffney, boasts an impressive career in the entertainment industry. His legendary "Leap of Faith" as editor of the "Harvard Lampoon" is still talked about today, and he later went on to edit the "National Lampoon".
Gaffney's five-year stint as a writer and creative consultant for MTV resulted in Clio-winning promo campaigns and several years' worth of "The Video Music Awards", often in collaboration with Glenn Eichler. He then served as a writer and senior story editor for the first five seasons of "Rugrats", earning an Emmy and the Jewish Televimage Award.
With a diverse range of experience in TV animation for both children and adults, Gaffney has worked extensively in the industry. He has also written for film, created video games, edited a book titled "The Herodotus File", and developed concepts for new media, both solo and in partnership with Japhet Asher, former vice-chairman of (Colossal) Pictures and creator of MTV's "Liquid Television".
Gaffney is married to his soul-mate, Sherry Caris, and they split their time between Hollywood and their enchanted cottage in the mountains near Lake Arrowhead, California, which they share with their two mischievous felines, Tiger and Raleigh. The felines even have their own comic strip, which can be found on Facebook.
Recently, Gaffney worked as story editor on the Amazon series "Bug Diaries" and as a staff writer for Disney, Jr. He is currently writing for several shows, including the re-boot of Nickelodeon's "Rugrats", Mattel's "Thomas & Friends", and a forthcoming series for Nickelodeon.
