Peter's life journey began in Chibougamau, Quebec, in the year 1968, where his father, a telecommunications engineer, played a significant role in shaping his early years. The family's frequent travels due to his father's work allowed Peter to experience various cultures and environments, including a stint in the Bahamas, where a substantial portion of his childhood was spent.
In 1977, the family returned to Quebec, and Peter's interests began to shift towards sports, particularly football. His passion for the game led him to pursue it in high school, and eventually, he secured a full scholarship to attend the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
Peter's football career took him back to his Canadian roots when he was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1991. After six years of playing in the Canadian Football League, he made a significant life change by enrolling in the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater in New York.
His breakthrough in acting came when he returned to his homeland of Quebec, where he is now a renowned actor, recognized not only in Quebec but also across Canada for his iconic role as Damon in the CBC/SoapNet television series MVP.
