Person Biography:
Philip Peel is a multifaceted individual with a career spanning teaching, film-making, and photography. He has worked as a writer, director, producer, director of photography, and teacher, and has taught the next generation of filmmakers.
As a professional, Phil has directed, written, produced, or filmed numerous short films that have been showcased in over 40 festivals, earning various awards. He has also advised and script edited on over 200 student 16mm drama films.
In addition to his work in film, Phil has also worked as a photographer and has worked through various roles in film and TV production, including sound recordist, camera assistant, writer, cable TV producer, and production manager.
Phil has held various positions, including Course Leader for the BA (Hons) in Film Production at the Arts University College at Bournemouth, Course Coordinator for the Film Short Courses and Summer Schools, Leader of 8-week Intensive Film Directing Summer schools, and Principal Lecturer on the Digital Media Production Course.
As an independent filmmaker, Phil has produced over 40 short films, both on film and video, and has directed 10+ music videos. He has also written 6 feature screenplays, with one optioned and another in production.
Phil has also worked on various projects, including arts council-funded creative dance performances, video productions for various clients, and has advised and script edited on numerous student films.
