Philip Nathanael Johnson's early life was marked by a series of moves between Guatemala City, Guatemala, and the United States, with his family residing in various locations in Guatemala and Ecuador during his formative years.
As he entered his late teens, Johnson considered joining the Air Force, but ultimately decided to pursue a career in acting instead. He joined the Covenant Players, a traveling theater company based in Oxnard, California, and spent two years touring with the group.
Before relocating to Los Angeles, Johnson spent nearly three years living in Peru, where he gained valuable life experience and cultural insight.
In 2007, Johnson returned to the United States and began working in the film and television industry, initially behind the camera as a director and camera operator, before transitioning to in-front-of-the-camera roles.
