Biography

Pierfrancesco Diliberto, professionally and affectionately referred to as Pif, is a multifaceted Italian personality, whose arrival into the world took place on June 4, 1972, in the vibrant city of Palermo, Italy. Born to the illustrious Italian director, Maurizio Diliberto, Pif was fortunate enough to be immersed in the captivating realm of cinema from a very young age, which naturally fostered within him a profound passion for the art form.

Pif's professional odyssey commenced in 1998, when he embarked on a pivotal role as an assistant director, collaborating with the renowned filmmaker Marco Tullio Giordana on the cinematic masterpiece "I cento passi" (The Hundred Steps). This critically acclaimed film courageously delves into the complexities of the mafia, providing a thought-provoking exploration of its far-reaching consequences.

Coinciding with this cinematic endeavour, Pif also initiated his career in the television industry by taking on the role of a television author at Mediaset, a prominent media conglomerate. This marked the beginning of a fruitful and long-standing association with the company, which would ultimately play a significant role in shaping his professional trajectory.

Pif's professional journey began in the year 2001, when he took on a significant role within the Italian television program "Le Iene" (The Hyenas). This esteemed show, renowned for its unique blend of satire and journalistic reporting, served as the perfect platform for Pif to refine his talents and cultivate a reputation as a charismatic television personality.

In the year 2007, Pierfrancesco "Pif" Gori embarked on a new venture, taking the reins to create and host his very own television program, "Il Testimone" (The Witness),which premiered on the popular music television network MTV. This innovative show revolves around Pif's unique approach to reporting, utilizing an Autovox to produce amateur-like news reports, not only in Italy but also internationally. To further complement the television series, Pif decided to publish a book titled "Piffettopoli. Le fatiche di un quasi vip", which masterfully showcases his quick wit, clever humor, and unparalleled storytelling abilities.

Pif has not limited his creative endeavors to television, as he has also explored the realm of literature. In the year 2012, he made his literary debut by publishing a short story titled "SarĂ  stata una fuga di gas" within the commemorative book "Dove eravamo. Vent'anni dopo Capaci e Via D'Amelio". This volume serves as a tribute to the twentieth anniversary of the tragic events that occurred at Capaci and Via D'Amelio, which claimed the lives of two esteemed Sicilian judges, Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino.

Luca Pifarrati, a multi-talented individual, embarked on his cinematic journey in 2013 with the release of his directorial debut, "The Mafia Kills Only in the Summer". This ambitious project showcased Pif's versatility as he not only wrote the screenplay but also took on the roles of director and leading actor. The film's success was soon followed by a television series adaptation, with Luca Ribuoli at the helm as director.

From the early stages of his professional journey, Pif has consistently showcased his remarkable adaptability and artistic prowess, leaving a profound imprint on the Italian entertainment landscape, with his impressive range of skills and abilities undoubtedly cementing his status as a highly respected and sought-after figure within the industry.
