Preston, a native of Texas, embarked on his acting journey during his senior year of high school. Subsequently, he enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin to pursue a degree in Theatre and Radio Television Film. Throughout his time at the esteemed institution, he had the opportunity to perform in over a dozen plays and make guest appearances in two television pilots, including the WB's "Jack and Bobby" and Richard Linklater's HBO pilot, "5.15/hr".
Following his graduation, Preston relocated to Los Angeles with the aspiration of establishing a career in acting. His determination and talent have undoubtedly left a lasting impact in the Hollywood landscape. He has shared the screen with a diverse range of notable actors, including William Shatner, Chris O'Donnell, John Goodman, David Carradine, Ryan Kwanten, Demi Lovato, Samuel L. Jackson, and Neil Patrick Harris, showcasing his versatility in both comedic and dramatic television and film. Most recently, he made a guest appearance in the CBS drama, "The Mentalist".
