Prithviraj Sukumaran, a renowned Indian actor, playback singer, and producer, was born on October 16, 1982. He is best recognized for his work in Malayalam films, having also appeared in numerous Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi movies.
Born in Thiruvananthapuram to actors Sukumaran and Mallika Sukumaran, Prithviraj's early education took place at Shrine Vailankanni Senior Secondary School in Chennai, followed by St.Joseph's Boys' Hr.Sec.School in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. When the family relocated to Kerala, he attended The NSS Public School in Perunthanni, St.Mary's Residential Central School in Poojappura, and later Sainik School Kazhakoottam and Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram.
Throughout his school years, Prithviraj actively participated in various plays and skits for the school's Annual Day Celebrations, debates, and elocution competitions. He even won the title of "Mr LA Fest" twice in the Annual Inter-School arts festival hosted by Loyola School in Thiruvananthapuram.
Prithviraj pursued his bachelor's degree in Information Technology at the University of Tasmania, Australia, but was soon called upon by film director Ranjith Balakrishnan to play the lead role in his film Nandanam. Introduced to Ranjith by Fazil, a well-known Malayalam film director, Prithviraj's performance in Nandanam prompted him to take a break from his studies to focus on his film career.
Interestingly, Prithviraj's elder brother Indrajith Sukumaran and sister-in-law Poornima Indrajith are also established film actors in the industry.
