Priyamani is a renowned South Indian actress who was born and raised in Bangalore. She completed her schooling at Sri Aurobindo Memorial School and later attended Bishop Cotton Woman's College.
As a student, Priyamani was actively involved in extracurricular activities and participated in numerous competitions. After completing her studies, she began her modeling career with Kanchipuram silks.
During her college years, Priyamani started modeling and appeared in several advertisements, which eventually led to her entry into the film industry. In 2003, she was spotted by Bharathiraja, who offered her a role in the Tamil film Kangalal Kaidhu Sei (2004).
Priyamani's breakthrough performance came with the Tamil film Paruthiveeran (2007),directed by Ameer Sultan, where she played the role of a village girl and won several awards, including a National Film Award and a Tamil Filmfare award for Best Actress.
She then went on to give noteworthy performances in films like Thief of Yama (2007),Thirakkatha (2008),Thotta (2008),Ninaithale Inikkum (2009),Raam (2009),Pranchiyettan and the Saint (2010),Raavanan (2010),Raavan (2010),Rakta Charitra (2010),Anna Bond (2012),Grandmaster (2012),Chaarulatha (2012),Chandi (2013),Kathe Chitrakathe Nirdeshana Puttanna (2016),Dana Kayonu (2016),Kalpana 2 (2016),and Dhwaja (2018).
Priyamani has also made a mark in web shows with her performances in The Family Man (2019) and His Story (2021). Besides acting, she has also appeared as a judge in several dance reality shows like Dhee (2013) and Dance jodi dance 2.0 (2017).
Priyamani married her long-time boyfriend, Mustafa Raj, in 2017, and they have a son together. Despite rumors of her retirement from acting, Priyamani has continued to work in the industry and has established herself as a talented and versatile actress.
