Radivoje Andric, a film and television director born in 1967, embarked on his creative journey by directing performances at the Dadov amateur theatre. He helmed productions of "Tomb for Boris Davidovich" by Danilo Kis and "Che - the Lasting Tragedy" by Dusko Radovic and Matija Beckovic, showcasing his early talent.
Before establishing himself as a prominent director, Andric gained valuable experience by working as an assistant to renowned Yugoslav directors over the past decade. This exposure allowed him to hone his craft and develop a unique perspective.
Andric's work has been featured at several prestigious film festivals, including the Festival of Documentary and Short Film in Belgrade (1997),where he showcased his films "January River" and "The Week of Fighting Against Interference." These documentaries chronicled the demonstrations in Belgrade during 1996-1997 and were produced by independent Belgrade radio station and video production - B-92.
His short film "January River" went on to participate in the Pusan International Film Festival (1998) and L'Alternativa '98 (Barcelona). Additionally, Andric's documentary "Can't they see the writing on the wall emancipating the media" was selected for La Biennale di Venezia, where it was presented as a guest of the Italian pavilion and featured a video production by Radio B-92.
Andric's feature film debut, "Three Palms for Two Punks and a Babe," received widespread acclaim and awards at nearly every Yugoslav film festival. He is currently preparing his second feature film, further solidifying his position as a talented and innovative director in the industry.
