Rakul Preet Singh is a prominent Indian actress and model who primarily works in the south Indian film industry, having also appeared in Tamil, Bollywood, and Kannada movies. Within a relatively short period, she has established herself as one of the leading Telugu film actresses.
Born on October 10, 1990, in New Delhi, India, Rakul Preet Singh is the daughter of Rajender Singh, an Army Officer, and Kulwinder Singh. She completed her schooling from Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan and later earned her Honors' Degree in Mathematics from Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi.
Rakul Preet Singh has been an active golf player and represented the country at national levels. She began her career as a model while still in college, featuring in several commercial flyers. Her film debut came in 2009 with the Kannada movie 'Gilli', directed by Raghava Loki, where she played the lead role of Arati opposite Gururaj Jaggesh.
In 2011, Rakul participated in the 'Femina Miss India Pageant', where she was placed fifth and won five pageant titles, including 'Miss India People's Choice'. The same year, she made her Telugu film debut with 'Keratam', playing the role of Sangeetha.
In 2012, Rakul entered the Tamil film industry with 'Thadaiyara Thaakka', acting alongside Arun Vijay as Gayathri Ramakrishnan. Her subsequent projects include 'Yaariyan' (2014),a Bollywood romantic adventure film directed by Divya Khoslla.
