Biography

Rebecca Arthur's earliest years were marked by a humble beginning in a small town nestled in the western region of Maryland, where she took her first breath and grew up surrounded by the rolling hills and picturesque landscapes of her childhood home. The untimely passing of her father, a salesman, when she was just a tiny infant, left her mother, a dedicated homemaker, to single-handedly raise her young daughter, instilling in her a sense of resilience and determination that would serve her well in the years to come. Despite the challenges that lay ahead, Rebecca's mother, sensing her daughter's innate creativity, encouraged her to explore the world of dance, and it was at the tender age of four that Rebecca first stepped into a dance studio, her tiny feet tapping out the rhythm of a lifelong passion. As she twirled and leaped across the stage, Rebecca discovered a love for the performing arts that would only grow stronger with each passing year, and she knew from that moment on that she was destined for a life in the spotlight, dedicated to pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.

Rebecca's journey took a significant turn as she ventured beyond her humble beginnings in a small town, opting to further her education at the University of Maryland at College Park. She spent three semesters honing her academic skills before making the bold decision to transfer to a prestigious acting academy in New York City. However, after a year of immersing herself in the academy's rigorous program, Rebecca chose to leave and pursue a different educational path, ultimately deciding to complete her studies at New York University. During this period of academic exploration, Rebecca simultaneously developed a unique skillset by working as a private investigator for an impressive three years. Following her graduation, Rebecca made the deliberate choice to dedicate herself fully to her acting career, putting her detective work on the backburner in favor of pursuing her passion for the performing arts.

Rebecca's early career trajectory was characterized by a series of performances in numerous off-off-Broadway theater productions, interspersed with occasional roles on soap operas in New York City. It was during this period that she obtained her Screen Actors Guild (SAG) card, a significant milestone in her professional journey, following her casting in a commercial for a prominent toilet paper brand. Her impressive comedic performances on soap operas gradually garnered the attention of her agents, who subsequently encouraged her to relocate to Los Angeles in anticipation of the upcoming pilot season.

In the vibrant city of Los Angeles, Rebecca's acting career received an auspicious start with her being cast in the inaugural project she auditioned for, a sitcom pilot titled "Anything For Love," which starred the talented Vicki Lawrence and Lauren Tewes.

Following her successful debut, Rebecca continued to work diligently in the television and film industries for the remainder of her first year in LA, honing her craft and gaining valuable experience.

As her confidence and skills grew, Rebecca embarked on a new adventure by auditioning for a guest star role in a burgeoning sitcom called "Perfect Strangers." Initially, she was cast for a single episode, but her exceptional performance and undeniable charm captivated the hearts of the show's creators, leading to her return for the remainder of the show's impressive eight-season run.

Throughout her tenure on "Perfect Strangers," Rebecca embodied the lovable and endearing character of Mary Anne, leaving a lasting impression on audiences and cementing her status as a talented and versatile actress.

Rebecca's illustrious career in film has yielded an extensive array of credits, boasting a diverse repertoire of notable productions, such as the romantic comedy "About Last Night", the Christmas classic "Scrooged", the drama "A Dangerous Woman", the crime comedy "Get Shorty", the offbeat romantic comedy "Men Seeking Women", and the intense drama "Every Breath".
