Rebeca Arthur's life story began in a small town in western Maryland, where she was born and raised. Her early life was marked by the sudden loss of her father, a salesman, who passed away when she was just a baby. Her mother, a homemaker, played a significant role in her upbringing.
As a young child, Rebeca discovered her passion for dance and began taking lessons at the tender age of four. This marked the beginning of her journey towards a career in show business. With a clear vision of her future, she left her hometown to pursue higher education at the University of Maryland at College Park. After completing three semesters, she transferred to an acting academy in New York City. However, she didn't find her calling there and instead decided to finish her education at New York University.
During her time in New York, Rebeca worked as a private investigator for three years before dedicating herself fully to acting after graduation. She made her mark in the theater world by appearing in various off-off-Broadway productions. Her talent soon caught the attention of soap opera casting directors, and she began making sporadic appearances on New York-based soap operas.
Rebeca's comedic skills on soap operas caught the eye of her agents, who convinced her to relocate to Los Angeles for pilot season. Her first audition in LA resulted in her being cast in a sitcom pilot called Anything For Love, starring Vicki Lawrence and Lauren Tewes.
The experience in LA led to a series of television and film appearances, including a guest role in the sitcom Perfect Strangers. Initially cast for one episode, Rebeca found herself returning for the remainder of the show's eight-season run. Some of her notable film credits include About Last Night, Scrooged, A Dangerous Woman, Get Shorty, Men Seeking Women, and Every Breathe.
