Rebecca Blumhagen is a multifaceted actor, writer, and filmmaker with a remarkable range of skills and experience, effortlessly transitioning between stage and screen. She has a knack for tackling a wide variety of material, from comedy to drama, showcasing her versatility and expressiveness.
Notably, Blumhagen stars as "Sam" in the HBO/Cinemax series "The Girls Guide To Depravity", based on Heather Rutman's cult blog, and has been a member of the writing team for Season 2, contributing her unique voice and humor to the series. She even composed one of the featured songs.
In addition to her television work, Blumhagen has recently wrapped production on the feature film "Other Plans", starring alongside Jamie Kennedy, Joseph Gannascoli, Michael Kastroff, and Malik Yoba. Her other notable film and television credits include "Extinction", "Lefty Loosey Righty Tighty", "Adam Underground", and "Body of Proof" opposite Emmy winner Dana Delaney.
On stage, Blumhagen has received critical acclaim for her performances in "Memory House" at the Merrimack Repertory Theater, "Smart Cookie" at The Alliance Theatre, and "Our Town" at The Arden Theatre Company. She has also played notable roles in "Romeo and Juliet", "Love's Labour's Lost", and "A Shayna Maidel".
Blumhagen has also ventured into directing, leading collaborative plays in East Africa through the International Theater and Literacy Project, including adaptations of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Our Town". She was the Tanzania Director for the project and shot the short documentary "The Sky Is So Far From The Land", which premiered at the annual International Theater and Literacy Project gala in NYC.
As a co-founder of the Springs Shakespeare Festival, Blumhagen produced and directed "Romeo and Juliet" as well as three original plays using Shakespeare's text and music. She is also the Video Director at Apartment Therapy, where she has produced, directed, and edited 95 videos about home design, totaling 27 million views since August 2012.
In addition to her work in film and television, Blumhagen is a founding member of a lullaby band, The Sparrows Lullaby Band, which released its first EP in December 2012. She is a graduate of Wheaton College.
