Richard's professional journey began at the tender age of 12, where he started working in various roles such as washing and waxing cars, mowing lawns, and selling greeting cards door-to-door. As he entered high school, he took on more responsibilities, working as a dock hand at a marina, a clam-digger, and a restaurant and soda shop counter attendant.
During his college years, Richard pursued a degree in Political Economy and simultaneously owned and operated a surfboard shop. He also had the opportunity to work as an international management trainee with Pan American World Airways, based in San Jose, Costa Rica, and Caracas, Venezuela. Richard's passion for flying started at the age of 7, and he earned his pilot's license while still in high school.
After completing his education, Richard joined the U.S. Navy's Aviation Officer Candidate School (flight school) at Pensacola, Florida, and served for 15 years in active and reserve duty with fighter and attack squadrons, both deployed on aircraft carriers and at shore installations within the United States.
Upon leaving active duty, Richard transitioned to a civilian career in sales, rapidly growing through positions of increasing responsibility, including sales manager, director of sales, vice president of sales and marketing, chief operating officer, chief executive officer, and chairman. His diverse experience spans small, medium, and large companies with various ownership structures, including venture capital/private equity, publicly traded, and family/closely held businesses in the technology and services industries, as well as the arts.
Richard's entrepreneurial spirit led him to partner with venture capital to build his own successful regional company in the electronic security industry. He also owned and chaired one of the country's leading human capital management companies for ten years until its sale in 2017. Throughout his career, Richard has completed over 100 acquisitions.
In addition to his business ventures, Richard is a talented SAG-AFTRA actor, stunt driver, and producer. He has appeared in recent TV shows and films, such as Outer Range, Roswell New Mexico, Robots, and Maggie Moore(s),showcasing his versatility as an actor. His unique character look and physical fitness make him an ideal candidate to portray characters ranging from clergy to business executives, attorneys, physicians, and criminal masterminds.
Richard is also a national champion Formula 2000 race car driver, stunt driver, and stunt driving instructor to the film and television industry. He has received numerous awards for his work as a producer.
