Robert Lieberman, a renowned director, is best known for his work on the Disney franchise, "D3: The Mighty Ducks". With a career spanning over three decades, he has directed numerous films and television shows, earning him widespread recognition and accolades.
Starting his feature career in 1982, Lieberman directed Jon Voight in "Table For Five", just after Voight's Best Actor Oscar win for "Coming Home". He went on to direct seven more films, including "Fire in the Sky", "All I Want For Christmas", "The Tortured", "The Stranger", and "Breakaway", which premiered at the 2011 Toronto Independent Film Festival.
Throughout his career, Lieberman has been one of the busiest and most successful directors in film and television. He has won 29 Clio Awards and became the first recipient of the Directors Guild of America's Best Commercial Director award in 1980. He has also won the DGA award again in 1996 and has been nominated a total of four times.
Lieberman's extensive commercial work includes over 1,000 spots for top companies such as AT&T, Budweiser, Burger King, Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Merrill Lynch, Hallmark, and Sprint, among many others. He even directed Yao Ming in an Oreo commercial in Shanghai.
In television, Lieberman has directed numerous shows, including "Dexter", "Brothers & Sisters", "Eureka", "Shark", "Haven", "Republic of Doyle", "Lost Girl", "The X-Files", "thirty-something", "Gabriel's Fire", "Hartsof the West", "The Young Riders", "Tom Clancy's Netforce", "Once and Again", "Strong Medicine", and "Titanic", starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and George C. Scott.
He has also executive produced several shows, including "The Dead Zone", "Marilu", and "The Casino". Lieberman has directed 19 pilots, with 16 selling to series, making him one of the most successful directors in television history.
A graduate of the University at Buffalo with a B.A. in film, Lieberman has received numerous awards and accolades from various film festivals and industry organizations. He is the father of four and resides with his wife in Los Angeles and Toronto.
