Rob Medaska's professional journey commenced as a talented member of the esteemed Improv Comedy troupe, Take Two, where he honed his skills and shared the stage with fellow comedians in Northern New Jersey. This formative experience laid the groundwork for Medaska's future endeavors, as he would later join forces with fellow Take Two alumni to co-found the Improv/Sketch comedy collective, Manhattan Improv Company (MIC). As a key member of MIC, Medaska and his colleagues brought laughter and joy to a wide range of esteemed venues across the Garden State and the Big Apple, including the iconic Rascals, The Laugh House, Don't Tell Mamas, The Duplex, the legendary Ed Sullivan Theatre, and the renowned Comedy Cellar, among others.
Following a notable stint, Rob went on to join Group Therapy, a predominantly sketch comedy troupe that garnered widespread recognition by performing in the vibrant city of New York.
Rob's creative endeavors continued to flourish as he embarked on the ambitious project of crafting and directing "Cable XS", a groundbreaking television show that seamlessly merged sketch comedy with live animation, thereby pioneering a fresh and captivating medium for humor. This innovative fusion of artistic expression and comedic genius resulted in a visually breathtaking and intellectually stimulating experience for audiences. The show's exceptional quality was subsequently recognized with the prestigious "Award of Distinction" at the esteemed Videographer's Awards, a testament to Rob's skill and dedication. As a result of its immense popularity, "Cable XS" garnered widespread acclaim and exposure in major metropolitan areas, including New York City, Los Angeles, and Northern New Jersey. The show's global appeal was further solidified through its international signing and marketing in the United Kingdom, where it found a new home with "Sick Sports Memorabilia" (SSM),a venue born from the creative vision of "Cable XS".
Rob, along with his creative partner, successfully spun off two characters from their initial concept into a standalone pilot vehicle, marking a significant milestone in their collaborative endeavors.
This innovative move led to the development of a feature movie centered around these two charismatic characters, which subsequently received widespread acclaim at the prestigious New York City and Los Angeles film festivals.
Rob has a diverse portfolio that extends beyond his work in television, as he has also been involved in the creation of various independent short and feature films.
