Rob Mello is an American actor born in Boston, Massachusetts, known for his role as John Tombs in the Blumhouse film "Happy Death Day" and its sequel. He began his acting career with a minor role in the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' "The Best of Me" in 2014 and went on to play in other films such as "Badass 3" and "The Magnificent Seven".
Growing up in Everett, Massachusetts, Rob attended Catholic school and graduated in 1993. During his high school years, he participated in the Drama Club and landed the lead role in "Don't Drink the Water", where he showcased his improvisational skills.
After graduation, Rob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving as Shore Party and earning a reputation as a 4-time rifle expert and combat-trained warrior. After being honorably discharged in 1997, he moved around the country, working odd jobs to make ends meet.
Rob's entry into the film industry was unconventional, as he responded to a Craigslist ad for an extra in 2012. The experience led him to land a leading role in the SAG short film "Dickie-Bird" and subsequently enroll in acting classes at the Performer's Studio Workshop in Tampa, Florida.
Since then, Rob has appeared in a range of films, including "The Best of Me" alongside James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan, and "Bad Asses 3" with Danny Trejo and Danny Glover. He is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG/AFTRA).
Rob currently resides in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is known for his Bostonian accent and chiseled jawline. He is also a talented writer, historian, and cook, and has been nominated for "Best Villain" at the Act Film Challenge.
