Zombie's early career was marked by his work as a production assistant on Pee-wee's Playhouse in 1986. He co-founded the band White Zombie with his then-girlfriend Sean Yseult in 1985, releasing their debut album "Soul-Crusher" in 1987.

White Zombie disbanded in 1998 after releasing their fourth and final album "Astro-Creep: 2000 - Songs of Love, Destruction and Other Synthetic Delusions of the Electric Head".
