Robby Takac, born Robert Carl Takac, Jr. on September 30, 1964, is a renowned musician and founding member of the iconic band Goo Goo Dolls, alongside Johnny Rzeznik. As the band's bassist, Robby has been an integral part of their success, crafting a distinctive sound that has captivated audiences worldwide.

Born and raised in West Seneca, New York, Robby has a younger sister, Trish. He graduated from West Seneca East High School in 1982, before pursuing higher education at Medaille College, where he earned a degree in Communications with a focus on Radio Broadcasting.
Robby's music career began in the punk band Monarchs, before he was persuaded by his cousin to leave and join the Beaumonts. It was during his time with the Beaumonts that he met future Goo Goo Dolls bandmate Johnny Rzeznik, and together they formed the band Sex Maggots, with Robby taking on lead vocals. The band's name was later changed to Goo Goo Dolls, with Robby switching to bass and Johnny assuming lead vocals. Their debut single, "Name," marked a significant milestone in the band's journey, paving the way for their subsequent success.
