Robert Atzorn's early life unfolded in the culturally rich cities of Oldenburg and Hamburg, Germany, where his fascination with the visual arts began to take shape. It was during his formative years that he developed a strong inclination towards graphic design, which ultimately led him to enroll at the esteemed Art School Alsterdamm in Hamburg.

However, it was not long before his creative inclinations shifted towards the captivating world of theater. This newfound passion prompted him to attend the renowned Neue Münchner Schauspielschule from 1967 to 1969, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his artistic journey.

After completing his academic pursuits, Atzorn embarked on a professional journey, commencing his theatrical career at the esteemed Württembergische Landesbühne during the 1969-1970 season. Subsequently, he accepted engagements at a multitude of renowned theaters, including the Schauspielhaus Zürich, a prominent institution in Switzerland; Theater Münster, a significant cultural hub in Germany; Bühnen der Stadt Köln, a celebrated theater in the heart of Cologne; Theater Dortmund, a respected stage in the Ruhr region; and the Residenz Theatre in Munich, a prestigious venue in the Bavarian capital.
