Sally George was born in Hull and went on to train at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Her impressive career began with the Royal Shakespeare Company, where she quickly rose from supporting roles to leading parts. Notable performances include Lady Ann in Richard III, Maggie in Havel's Temptation, and Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew.
George has had the privilege of working at esteemed institutions such as The Almeida Theatre and London's West End. She collaborated with renowned director Alan Ayckbourn on Scarborough at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and has toured extensively throughout the UK, Japan, Australia, and Europe.
As a founder member of Northern Broadsides, George has been instrumental in promoting the company's mission to produce innovative and engaging productions. Her extensive television and film credits include Buddha of Suburbia, Measure for Measure, Persuasion, Casualty, Holby City, Eastenders, and The Bill, as well as the critically acclaimed Daziel and Pascoe.
George received widespread acclaim for her one-woman film, Love Somehow, in which she played the role of Caitlin Thomas, wife of the legendary poet Dylan Thomas. Her performance earned her three best actress awards at the IIFF, WIMFF, and World Film Fest.
Recent highlights include her Olivier Award-nominated performance in Oliver Award-nominated play People Places and Things at the National Theatre and Wyndham's, as well as her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I in a new play at Hampton Court Palace. Upcoming projects include her role as Mari in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at Park Theatre London in the summer of 2018.
