Samantha Gail Weinstein, a talented actress, was born on March 20, 1995, in the vibrant city of Toronto, Canada. From a young age, she demonstrated a passion for acting, making her debut at the tender age of six.
Throughout her illustrious career, Samantha gained recognition for her captivating performances in various film and television roles. One of her most notable roles was as Heather in the 2013 remake of Carrie, a classic horror film. Her portrayal of Audrey in Jesus Henry Christ (2011) and Josephine in the award-winning short film Big Girl (2005) also showcased her impressive acting skills.
Big Girl, directed by Vincenzo Natali, not only earned Samantha critical acclaim but also secured her the 2006 ACTRA award for Best Performance-Female. This remarkable achievement made her the youngest recipient of the award at the tender age of ten.
In addition to her film work, Samantha also appeared in several notable television shows, including Being Erica, Less Than Kind, Copper, and Darknet. Darknet marked her second collaboration with director Vincenzo Natali, following the independent feature Haunter (2013).
Aside from her acting career, Samantha was also an accomplished voice performer, lending her voice to various animated characters throughout her career.
In 2016, Samantha pursued her passion for music by founding the Toronto-based garage rock band, Killer Virgins. As the lead singer, songwriter, and lead guitarist, she brought her unique talent to the band.
Sadly, Samantha's life was cut short when she passed away on May 14, 2023, after a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with ovarian cancer. Surrounded by her loved ones, she left this world at Toronto's Princess Margaret Hospital.
