Sammy Horowitz, a multifaceted individual, has made a name for himself as an award-winning action-actor, stuntman, playwright, and screenwriter, hailing from the vibrant city of Chicago.
Prior to relocating to the entertainment capital of Hollywood, Sammy's life took a dramatic turn, as he was a member of a predominantly Latino street gang and spent nearly a decade incarcerated. This tumultuous period was followed by a series of occupations, including working as a bouncer and doorman at nightclubs, a stick-up man, a drug addict, an M.M.A. fighter, and eventually, a professional boxer who competed across the country.
Notably, Sammy is one of the few stuntmen to have successfully transitioned into television writing. In 2024, he co-founded the Justice Impacted Writers Project (JIWP) alongside his writing partner Adam Pasen, in collaboration with Northwestern University and the Writers Guild Foundation. Through this initiative, they provide guidance and mentorship to incarcerated aspiring writers, teaching them the craft of writing for television.
Sammy currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, the talented actress Sari Sanchez.
