However, it was his breakthrough role in Sujoy Ghosh's 2012 Hindi blockbuster film Kahaani that catapulted him to national fame. In this critically acclaimed movie, Saswata Chatterjee played the chilling character of Bob Biswas, a contract killer with a seemingly ordinary appearance, yet possessing an aura of menace. His outstanding performance left the entire nation enthralled, with many drawing comparisons between his portrayal of the villain and the iconic Bollywood baddies, Mogambo and Gabbar Singh.
Throughout his illustrious career, Saswata Chatterjee has been associated with numerous notable projects, including his most recent and highly acclaimed role as TV show creator Abhijit Ganguly in the breakout hit thriller Network, directed by the talented Saptaswa Basu in 2019.
